Job Position: Forklift/Skid Steer Operator
Location: WACO, TX 76704
Pay Rate: $18.00/hr Shift: 2nd shift
Description: Essential Duties:
• Operates and/or drives equipment as required.
• Load/Unload Trailer- RAW MATERIALS-Exp needed to efficiently/safely move up to 5000lb bales of cardboard/paper material from trailers to the floor or storage areas. Loads are time sensitive
• Loading Trailers-FINISHED GOODS-Exp needed moving SKUS of oversized pallets safely/efficiently into 53' trailers. Must be able to validate correct SKU & quantities. Loads are time sensitive.
• Dock Safety-Exp needed to follow the Lockout process, glad hand lock, jackstand, chock all trailers before commencing loads.
• Skid Steer-Exp needed using Bucket configured Skid Steer to transfer loads, spreading & compacting materials into the process
• Skid Steer-Must be able maintain appropriate load balance (bucket), maintain the appropriate level of materials in the mixing areas.
• Assist with other general labor tasks that are needed for area.
• Maintain the facility's equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
• Actively communicate with production members and supervisors.
• Comply with all OSHA Standards
• Some customer service skills when dealing with delivery drivers and customer pickups.
• Keeps management aware of any delays or discrepancies
• Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out simple one or two-step instructions
• Ensure that Quality, Environmental, and Safety Standards for production, customers and employees are consistently achieved.
• Must have a certain level of mechanical ability to demonstrate/execute pre- & post daily inspections in compliance with the companies OSHA required checklists
• Must be comfortable working in a high-pressure environment & adapting to daily shipping needs.
• Must have good communication skills, will be required to daily communicate with dispatch concerning trailer loads.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Previous Forklift/Skid Steer experience (preferred) 1-4 years
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 21 years of age
• Must have reliable transportation
• Willingness to learn/adapt to current procedures
• Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
• Capable of speaking, writing, and reading English
SKILLS ~ EXPERIENCE: Required:
• The ability to adapt and follow instruction requires adequate comprehension skills.
• Essential to this job is the ability to move freely in and around obstacles common in high volume work areas.
• Working knowledge of and ability to make practical application of basic machine operating requirements for assigned areas of responsibility
• Must be a self-starter and able to accomplish expected tasks under minimal supervision
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, especially the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks
• The ability to bend, stoop and reach around, behind and across store equipment and furniture.
• Some lifting and the movement of moderate loads requires a 30 pound lifting requirements.
• The ability to report to work at the prescribed time for each scheduled shift and to fulfill the job requirements for the duration of the shift or until relieved of all duties by a direct supervisor.
• The ability to interact productively with co-workers.
• The ability to understand and follow posted work rules and procedures.
• The ability to receive constructive criticism in a professional manner.
Work Environment:
Exposed to the elements. Often exposed to loud sounds & distracting noise levels. Temperatures vary from cold to hot. Walking & standing for up to 8-10 hrs daily. All areas will require the use of ear plugs/safety glasses & hi-vis vests.
Schedule: Night Shift Monday-Thursday (10hr days) Times will vary based on customer demand
