Electrical System Architect - Notebooks

From applied research to advanced engineering, the Engineering Technologist team has the expertise to shape ground-breaking products, material and processes. It’s a fascinating field of work. We’re involved in assessing the competition, developing technology and product strategies and generating intellectual property. We lead technology investigations, analyze industry capabilities and recommend potential acquisitions or vendor partner opportunities. Our insights influence product architecture and definitions. You will:

• Create best in class electrical architecture for specialty mobile platforms

• Architect and influence future mobile product design by providing technical expertise and engineering leadership; strong focus on the front-end design cycle

• Collaborate with technology providers to identify and scope new technology innovation opportunities. Assess concepts, risks, and ensure readiness for implementation

• BS in Electrical Engineering and 4-6 years of experience

• Strong aptitude to assess and optimize products by making the proper feature tradeoffs between mechanical, electrical, power, thermal, firmware, and BIOS

• E xperience with ECAD and electrical simulation tools (Cadence OrCAD/Allegro/Sigrity/Power SI/Power DC, Mentor HyperLynx), ability to create basic schematics, PCB floor planning and layouts, production schematic proposals, and convey ideas through ECAD

• Driven self-motivated individual that is willing to solve complex problems

• Must possess strong communication and soft skills, both verbal and written; high degree of efficacy to navigate and relate to multiple audience levels

Desirable Requirements

• MS Electrical Engineering

• 6-8 years   Electronics Design   experience

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $163,200.00 - $211,200.00 depending on location.
