Technology Business Development

What You Will Do

Lead Amgens search and evaluation of external partnerships focusing on smallmolecule drug discovery and technologies that support the oncology therapeutic area. Responsible for negotiating and executing select transactions, collaborating with crossfunctional teams to align with business goals, and ensuring robust communication between external and internal stakeholders. Prioritize opportunities through networking and landscape reviews, lead technical evaluations by forming and managing crossfunctional review teams, provide recommendations based on scientific and industry knowledge, and facilitate efficient decisionmaking. Manage legal negotiations and execution of contractual agreements, present strategic discussions and presentations with senior management, and mentor team members while representing Amgen as a respected professional.

Basic Qualifications

• Doctorate degree in a scientific field & 4 years of experience in drug development industry and/or biopharma business development
• Masters degree in a scientific field & 7 years of experience in drug development industry and/or biopharma business development
• Bachelors degree in a scientific field & 9 years of experience in R&D and/or biopharma business development

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctorate in a scientific field, with strong knowledge in discovery and technology platforms
• 4+ years of management and/or leadership experience in business and drug development activities, and strong technical R&D experience along with business development and licensing experience
• Strong leadership, scientific, organizational, communication, and project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent presentation skills and effective communication pertaining to scientific and business development; ability to foresee and solve problems, prioritize and meet deadlines; strong team player with experience managing direct reports and interfacing with all levels of staff across differing functional expertise
• Demonstrated ability to create and establish relationships with internal and external parties
• Professional demeanor with strong decision making
• Ability to work independently, manage large crossfunctional teams, and mentor individuals

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted; actual salary will vary based on factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications.
