Base pay range $70.00/hr - $72.00/hr Job Title: Governance, Risk, Compliance & Audit Analyst Location: Austin, TX or San Antonio, TX or Remote Candidates travel: Travel to the client site required on a monthly/quarterly cadence. Out-of-state candidates will compensate for travel. Department: TXDOT Reports To: Program Manager or Mid/Senior Level Management Job Type: Contract Remote Work: Yes This role is for candidates who can work only on our W-2. No C-2-C. Pay Rate: $70-$72/hr. On W-2 only: The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Position Summary The Governance, Risk, Compliance & Audit Analyst is responsible for supporting the organization’s GRC and audit functions under the direction of program management or senior leadership. This role focuses on maintaining system-level documentation, conducting risk assessments, supporting regulatory reviews, and coordinating audit activities. The analyst ensures that all compliance and risk-related documentation aligns with organizational standards and frameworks and contributes to the successful execution of audit and remediation projects. Key Responsibilities Develop, update, and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs) and related documentation. Track and manage findings, risks, and remediation activities in the risk register. Conduct routine and ad-hoc risk assessments and prepare risk assessment reports. Support internal and external audit preparation, execution, and remediation activities. Coordinate compliance activities with internal teams and external auditors. Ensure adherence to organizational standards, policies, and control frameworks. Provide project status reports and track tasks, issues, and risks. Facilitate compliance with standard processes, procedures, and controls. Attend project and engagement meetings and communicate with internal stakeholders. Assist in liaison activities with audit, compliance, regulatory, security, and operations teams. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience). Professional certifications preferred: PMP, CISA, CRISC, CISM, CRMP, NCSF, CISSP. Experience with ServiceNow GRC or equivalent risk management tools. Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., ServiceNow Project, Visual Task Boards). Strong understanding of risk management methodologies and control frameworks. Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Collaborative and ethical mindset with attention to detail. Desired Attributes Ability to interpret complex documents and policies. Experience managing projects across multiple technologies and functions. Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards. Capable of working independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
