Job Description

Construction Manager (Amsterdam, Netherlands) Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Manager to oversee and manage construction projects for the Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO), Office of Construction Management, in Amsterdam, Netherlands. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the planning, direction, management, and coordination of the Department's overseas construction projects. As a Construction Manager, you will work closely with project team members to ensure the successful delivery of each project, prioritizing the achievement of scope, schedule, and cost objectives while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency. The duration of the project will be for 12 months. Duties and Responsibilities: • Coordinate efforts and provide leadership to OBO project staff, ensuring safety and accident prevention plans are in place on all projects. • Assist in the planning, scheduling, and management of contractors to meet quality, schedule, cost, and compliance goals. • Ensure all necessary licenses and permits are obtained and displayed before work begins. • Supervise contractors' quality control inspections and perform field inspections to verify work quality. • Review contractor submittals, change orders, design calculations, and pay requests for compliance and accuracy, ensuring work is completed as agreed. • Maintain proper documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and project files. • Assist with contract administration, including negotiating modifications, claims, and ensuring compliance with all requirements. • Develop and manage an inventory of project-related property, ensuring compliance with reporting standards. • Support the Project Director in acquiring and utilizing local construction professionals when necessary. • Evaluate and make recommendations on contractor substitution requests and change orders. • Ensure contractors maintain accurate as-built documentation. • Ensure materials requested for payment are properly accounted for, in good condition, and stored correctly. • Prepare monthly progress reports and photo documentation for each project. • Assist in developing presentations and special reports related to the construction program.
Requirements: • Degree Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture from an accredited university in the United States and a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience on construction projects of similar scope and value to the project. • Must possess a Final Secret, Interim Top Secret (ITS), or Final Top Secret (TS) clearance issued by Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA). • Professional Engineering registration, Registered Architect, or Certified Construction Manager is preferred.
Work Location: • This position is based in Amsterdam, Netherland. Must be ready to deploy to support the contract.
