Electric Machinery Company, a division of WEG Electric Corp. Minneapolis, MN Position: Welder - 2nd shift Team: Fabrication Team Primary Objective of Position: A Welder is responsible for setting up, fabricating and welding complex parts using various welding processes. A Welder works with a high degree of detail adhering to safety and quality standards.
Major Areas of Accountability: \n - Set up and fabricate a wide variety of components using various welding processes, primarily FCAW and GMAW.
\n - Use oxygen-acetylene, oxygen-natural gas, plasma arc and carbon-arc equipment to heat, straighten, trim and bevel ferrous and non-ferrous material.
\n - Read drawings and routings to determine method, sequence of operation, position, tolerances and welding specifications, to include proper filler materials, fluxes and weld machine settings.
\n - Make all necessary layouts and setups using proper tools and fabricating equipment.
\n - Uses portable electric or air driven grinding or chipping equipment.
\n - Perform self-inspection and documentation of welded components.
\n - Provide feedback on rejected welded components, and may determine disposition of rework for rejection report.
\n - Works in other areas of the Fabrication Team skills matrix, may work in other areas fabricating parts and brazing.
\n - Lift and move materials using forklift, pallet jack, overhead crane or jib crane.
\n - Demonstrates a commitment to Continuous Improvement by identifying opportunities in day to day work.
\n - Performs to ISO 9001 Quality Standards and abides to OSHA and EPA regulations.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: \n - 1-2 year welding degree or High School degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant welding experience.
\n - Must pass a FCAW 3G and GMAW-SC 2G weld test.
\n - Knowledge of layouts, ability to read blueprints, perform basic math and calculate conversions.
\n - Ability to be certified in overhead and Jib crane operation and forklift operation.

Salary Based on experience and qualifications
Pay Types Voluntary weekend overtime.
Saturday is paid at time and a half, Sundays are paid at double time!
Job Type Monday - Friday, 2nd shift 3:30 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.
