Job Title: Triage Registered Nurse
Start Date: December 2024
Pay Rate: $36 - $40.00/hour
Location: 100% Remote
We Provide: Full laptop and computer package
Full-Time Hours:
8am-7pm PST / 11am-10pm EST (4x10 hour shifts)
3-week rotation, with one weekend (Saturday & Sunday) required within the schedule
Part-Time Overnight Hours:
20 hours per week between 7pm-4am PST / 10pm-7am EST
2-week rotation, with one weekend (Saturday & Sunday) required within the schedule
Training:
10am-7pm EST (2 weeks required for both full-time and part-time)
Key Responsibilities:
Provide Compassionate Care: Respond to incoming calls promptly, assisting patients by offering standardized care and navigating benefits. Build a friendly and professional rapport with each patient.
Clinical Assessment & Triage: Assess symptoms thoroughly to determine the appropriate level of care needed and make referrals using established guidelines.
Patient Education: Communicate care recommendations clearly, using patient-friendly language to ensure full understanding.
Resource Referral: Assist patients in connecting with internal and external resources, including community services, when necessary.
Support for Urgent Needs: Manage urgent prescription requests and serve as the primary contact for emergency escalations.
Team Collaboration & Improvement: Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
Education & Licensure:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Registered Nurse (RN), compact state licensure, and eligibility to obtain licensure in all 50 states. California RN license is preferred (application pending at final interview is acceptable).
Experience:
At least 2 years of experience in a triage setting (preferably phone triage), or 2+ years in an emergency room, or 4+ years in ambulatory primary care with a focus on triage.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in using multiple medical record systems and Google Suite.
Communication Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to gather clinical history, explain medical information to patients, and summarize findings clearly.
Decision-Making:
Expertise in advanced clinical decision-making and managing complex cases with uncertainty, while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Work Hours:
Ability to work within the PST timezone and commit to rotating holiday and weekend shifts (every 3rd weekend for full-time, every other weekend for part-time).
