TAX LOAN ACCOUNTANT Location Coral Gables, FL : Overview: Come grow with us!! We are seeking a recent grad with 1 year experience in the Accounting field for an Loan Accountant role in the tax department. Ideal candidate will be responsible for accurate and timely reconciliation, calculation, and preparation of numerous loan level schedules for the tax department. Perform all technical and accounting activities required in order to ensure an effective and efficient level of service. Assist the Loan Accounting Team with the month end close for the various entities. Responsibilities:
- Reconcile, analyze, and convert from GAAP to Tax various loan level tax items on a monthly basis for numerous entities.
- Uploading information into the Loan Accounting system as required.
- Prepare journal entries to the Oracle Financial system.
- Reconcile general ledger to loan accounting system in a loan level basis every month.
- Maintain tax loan level information in SBO.
- Assist in writing and updating loan level tax procedures.
- Assist Loan Accounting team with the month end close for all Opportunity Funds:
- Review marks & analysis for fair value of loans including upload to SBO and gl entries.
- Analysis and reporting on FOD.
- Review of REO liquidations and communication with REO department to ensure completeness.
- Reconciliation and preparation of month end trail balances.
- Meet deadlines with competing priorities to ensure success.
- Provide the Tax Department any loan level information requested.
- Special Projects assigned by VP Loan Accounting - Tax.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Access and Word
- Must possess intermediate knowledge of Oracle.
- Intermediate Accounting skills.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written skills with a high degree of human relation skills, including conflict resolution capabilities.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Ability to balance multiple competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance or working toward degree with applicable Bayview experience.
