Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech:

Responsibilities

As a Surgical Tech, you will:

• Assist surgeons with surgical procedures under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
• Convey sterile instruments and supplies used in both basic and complex surgical procedures.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or clinical-based program.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, sterile technique, medical terminology, instrumentation, and medical equipment.
• Clinical competencies in sterilization techniques and operating room instruments.
• Six (6) months of experience in an operating room or ambulatory surgery unit.
• Current CPR certification.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Certified OR Tech.
• 1 year of OR experience.
• CORT or CST certification.
