Job Title: Backend Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Backend Developer with 5+ years of hands-on development experience to support and enhance our backend systems. You will be working on a key internal application, focusing on stabilizing its current state and building out a more robust and user-friendly backend to empower business users. This is a great opportunity to play a critical role in backend database development and application stability, directly impacting business operations and user experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize relational database schemas to support application functionality and data integrity. Analyze existing structures to identify and resolve bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance backend services and APIs using Java. Ensure modularity, scalability, and performance of backend components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver backend solutions tailored to business needs.
• Build backend features that streamline business workflows and improve usability for non-technical users. Focus on accessibility and user empowerment via data services and interfaces.
• Optimize existing database structures and queries for performance and scalability.

Required Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of professional experience in development, with a strong emphasis on backend systems and database-driven applications.
• Expertise in SQL and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server), including schema design, query optimization, stored procedures, and indexing strategies.
• Strong Java skills, including experience with frameworks like Spring, Hibernate, or similar technologies commonly used in enterprise backend development.
• Experience working on internal or enterprise-level applications.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Bonus / Nice to Have

• Experience modernizing or refactoring legacy backend applications.
• Understanding of data access security, user roles, and permissions in application backends.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and related data services.
