Job Summary

Seeking a P&ID Drafter who is responsible for drafting P&IDs and PFDs in SPID, preparing work packages for junior drafters, ensuring SPID drafting best practices are being followed by the team, and mentoring junior drafters. P&ID Drafters require technical know-how and first-hand knowledge of their assigned tasks to support client interface with Smart P&ID software.

Job Description

• Setup and drafting of new and existing drawings within Smart PID.
• Provide education/training for new hires, ensuring drafters are proficient with Smart PID.
• Ensure the drafting team adheres to client drafting procedures and standards.
• Create and implement a QA/QC plan for backchecking drafting work.
• Compile handover documentation and transmittals to submit completed work packages to the client.
• Work closely with SPID administrator to create and test new SPID symbol catalog items.
• Implement client and internal drafting policies & procedures.
• Identify opportunities to reduce overall execution costs.
• Manage a team of high-performing employees.

Skills Required

• We are looking for a person with a minimum of 5 + years of drafting experience in Smart PID/SPPID and industry experience with related technical knowledge and experience on projects.
• Drafting experience in ACAD and/or MicroStation a +
• In-depth knowledge of engineering workflow and document management.
• Experience mentoring and training new users in Smart PID software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Highly motivated and self-directed.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good at Q/A
• Capable of moving to a lead role.

Education/Training/Certifications

• Trade School or Associates Degree or equivalent experience.

Additional Requirements

• Require 2-3 days in office per week only.
