Job Summary: The Project Manager/Estimator is responsible for overseeing and managing commercial roofing projects from inception to completion, ensuring that they are executed on time, within scope, and within budget. This role involves estimating costs, coordinating with clients and subcontractors, managing project timelines, and ensuring high-quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities: - Estimating:
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial roofing projects.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other project documents to determine scope of work and required materials.
- Obtain and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Develop and present cost proposals and negotiate terms with clients.
- Project Management:
- Plan and oversee project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
- Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed to address issues or changes.
- Work with Construction Manager to ensure adherence to project specifications and quality standards.
- Client Communication:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing any questions or concerns related to the project.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders, including clients, team members, and subcontractors.
- Prepare and present project updates and reports to clients and upper management.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and financial records.
- Process invoices and manage project-related expenses.
- Prepare and submit progress reports and final project documentation.
Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CCM) are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in project management and estimating within the commercial roofing industry.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of roofing systems, materials, and construction processes.
- Proficiency in project management software and estimating tools.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the roofing industry.
Working Conditions: - Primarily office-based with occasional field visits.
- May require travel to job sites and occasional overtime.
