We have 12 OR procedure rooms.There are 8, 10 and 12-hour shifts depending on unit and need. Nurses use a self-scheduling process with a call rotation for weekdays and weekends.Weekend call is about 1 weekend every 6 weeks.Weekend and holiday rotations are mapped out by year. Call for a new OR nurse is typically 6 months out but may do some buddy call earlier.
How you̢۪ll contribute
A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:
·Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
·Documents patient care given.
·Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
·Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
·Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
·Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
·Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Qualifications:
What we̢۪re looking for
Applicants should have a state of Michigan RN license and possess an associate degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's degree preferred).
Additional requirements include:
·Basic Life SupportHealth Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
·Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (within 1 year)
·Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (within 1 year)
