RN – Job Opportunity

A small rapidly growing employee-owned health care family of companies in Sunnyvale, TX dedicated to residential hospice and home health care seeks its first full-time RN employee. This is a unique position with an extremely competitive, perhaps creative, compensation package for a serious, focused, and hard-working candidate. Primary functions: 1. Administer nursing care for adult patients in their place of residence; 2. Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team, patient and family, and the referring agency; 3. Assume the responsibility for coordination of care in consultation with and reporting to Director of Nursing.

Requirements: Current Texas State license as a Registered Nurse. At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse working in either home health or hospice, but preferably both. CPR Certification required. Must read, write and comprehend English. Must have reliable transportation, and current auto liability insurance and Texas driver’s license. Must have Hepatitis consent/declination. Good interpersonal skills are a must. Marketing skills/experience a plus.

Physical Necessities: Prolonged standing and walking required, with ability to lift and move patients. Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and patient needs, and to make quick, good decisions; meet patient and family individualized psycho-social needs. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Workplace Environment: Work in patient’s home in various conditions; possible exposure to blood/bodily fluids/infectious diseases; Required ability to work flexible schedule and ability to travel locally; Must make PRN emergency calls for assigned patients.

Salary: $38-45.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience, with the possibility of an additional stipend. Mileage reimbursement available.

CNA – Job Opportunity

We have an established home healthcare and hospice agency and have multiple opportunities for a skilled CNA on a part-time basis working in multiple locations. We are very family oriented, and offer a hands on approach for patient care and family support. You will provide outstanding patient care and physical support for patients at their residence. CNA will need to be committed to weekly visits and be flexible if changes are needed to accommodate patient care. To do well in this role you should have your state-certified nursing assistant certification from a recognized CNA program.

CNA Compensation: Ranging from $19 - $23 per visit (determined by experience)

CNA Responsibilities:

  • Providing great patient care.
  • Answering patient calls and determining how best to help them.
  • Providing physical support for patients or residents with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing, or exercising.
  • Turning and repositioning bedridden patients.
  • Ensuring patients or residents receive appropriate diet by reviewing their dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences.
  • Obtaining a wide range of information from physicians, caregivers, and nurses about patient conditions, treatment plans, and suggested activities.
  • Measuring and recording food and liquid intake and urinary and fecal output and reporting changes to medical or nursing staff.
  • Recording vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate as requested by staff.
  • Examining patients to detect issues requiring medical care, including open wounds, bruises, or blood in the urine.
  • Reminding patients to take medications and nutritional supplements.
  • Noting observations of patient behavior, including complaints, or physical symptoms to nurses.
  • Stay up to date on CNA training and facility policy and procedure.

CNA Requirements:

  • State Certified Nursing Assistant Certification.
  • Current CPR (American Heart Association).
  • Ability to think and work independently and with direction, communicate with staff members in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Current identification.
  • Comfortable using a computer.
  • Excellent personal hygiene.

Small, growing Sunnyvale, Texas hospice is hiring a part-time independent contractor LVN. Could well grow into a full-time employee position for the right fit.

Primary functions: 1. Administer nursing care for clients of all ages in their place of residence; 2. Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team, patient and family and the referring agency; 3. Assume the responsibility for coordination of care in consultation with and reporting to Director of Nursing.

Requirements: Graduate of an accredited school of vocational nursing (LVN) Diploma or Associates degree. Current Texas State license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse. 2-years’ experience as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in a clinical care setting, hospice preferred, or 1-years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in a clinical care setting. Nursing skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice. Proof of current CPR Certification. Must read, write and comprehend English. Hospice experience preferred. Must have reliable transportation, valid and current auto liability insurance, and a current Texas driver’s license. Must have Hepatitis consent/declination. Good interpersonal skills are a must. Marketing skills/experience would be a plus.
