Technical Product Owner - Deposits Location: McLean, VA (On-site 2-3 days per week, initially 3 days)
Overview: Our financial services client is seeking a
Technical Product Owner (TPO) specializing in deposit-related products and services. This role is critical for bridging the gap between business and technical teams, ensuring smooth delivery of high-priority projects. The ideal candidate will bring a strong sense of ownership, the ability to quickly understand the business, and a proactive approach to driving initiatives forward.

Responsibilities: - Requirements Gathering & Story Creation:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and define product requirements.
- Translate business needs into actionable user stories in JIRA, prioritizing tasks based on business value.
- Sprint & Backlog Management:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive backlog of business priorities.
- Present sprint priorities to technical teams, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Coordinate with development teams to track progress and manage delivery timelines.
- Issue Tracking & Resolution:
- Maintain a log of issues identified during testing, tracking both related and unrelated findings.
- Work closely with QA and UAT teams to ensure successful resolution of issues and readiness for deployment.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Act as a liaison between business and technical teams, ensuring clear communication of goals and updates.
- Provide regular status reports on project progress and backlog management.
- Data & Analytics:
- Utilize data analytics tools (basic proficiency with pivot tables preferred) to support decision-making and track performance.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and methodologies as needed.
- Regulatory Compliance & Quality:
- Ensure products comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications: - Minimum 5 years of experience in product management or technical product ownership, preferably in banking or financial services.
- Strong understanding of deposit products, including account opening, transaction processing, and interest calculations.
- Experience with JIRA for managing user stories and sprint planning.
- Proficiency in Salesforce CRM, FIS (Fidelity Information Services), and FICO platforms is a plus.
- Basic data analytics skills (pivot tables) or willingness to learn.
- Proven track record of working collaboratively in agile environments (Scrum or Kanban).
- Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build relationships and drive initiatives with minimal supervision.
On-Site Requirements: - Initially, the candidate is expected to work on-site in McLean, VA, three days per week , with flexibility to adjust to 2-3 days as the role stabilizes.
