Summary

The Mustard Seed Preschool is seeking a dedicated and passionate Preschool Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for young children and God, a creative approach to teaching, and the ability to foster a nurturing and educational environment. This part-time position requires working Monday through Thursday and offers an hourly wage between $18.00 and $20.00.

Duties

  • Coordinate and implement age-appropriate educational curriculum and activities that promote physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth for preschool children based on developmentally appropriate learning standards.
  • Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment where children feel welcomed and supported.
  • Assess the developmental needs of children and tailor activities to meet these needs in both individual and group settings.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Ensure a healthy classroom environment by maintaining classroom cleanliness and organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations and school policies.
  • Communicate effectively and frequently with parents regarding their child's progress, both in person and through digital communication through our ProCare app.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to ensure continuous quality improvement.
  • Manage classroom behavior in a positive and constructive manner and supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standards
  • Lead by example and collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive and supportive educational environment.

Requirements

  • CDA credentials, Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred. Minimum high school diploma.
  • Previous experience working with preschool-aged children as a lead teacher.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative, energetic, and patient with a passion for early childhood education.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
