About the position:

TJFACT is seeking an experienced Policy Analyst personnel to support the CDC DGHP in Atlanta, GA.

The Policy Analyst will evaluate and analyze public health programs and policies; advise on ways to strengthen and improve the operations, products, and services of international public health programs based on analysis.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organize and support the completion of high level, collaborative public health projects between the DGHP and other internal and external domestic and international public health organizations inclusive of United States Agency for International Development (USAID), World Health Organization (WHO), and Ministry of Health to meet agency goals.
  • Develop PowerPoint slides, talking points, and briefings on programs and high-priority countries.
  • Research and prepare responses to Division of Global Health Protection related inquiries received from public health partners and key stakeholders (e.g., information to support data calls, briefing materials, and other responses) while performing services as outlined herein.
  • Analyze collected data findings and interpret complex legislative, regulatory, and/or policy guidance for use in managing overseas public health programs.
  • Demonstrate previous experience in being able work and to relate with a diverse group of people.
  • Develop strategies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and associated materials for engagement with the CDC Foundation and potential donors.
  • Coordinate partner outreach and cultivation of new non-financial relationships with faith-based organizations, academic institutions, think tanks, and others.
  • Develop new materials showcasing partnership opportunities with CDC/DGHP
  • Analyze opportunities for Congressional and partner engagements, both in the US and overseas, organization of meetings and visits on global health security.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in performing listed tasks
  • Master's degree in public health, Master Business Administration, or relevant field
  • Documented experience with a policy office at either the Center or Division level
  • Demonstrated success and examples in policy analysis
  • Ability to draft and respond to Congressional and partner inquiries
  • Ability to organize, support, and complete high level, collaborate meetings and/or projects with partners and Ministries of Health
  • Ideally, context in global health security
  • Knowledge of appropriations law
  • Knowledge of Federal Government funding sources, including inter-agency agreement handling requirements
  • Proficient in using computer systems and standard software applications (Excel, Power Point, TEAMS, Word, and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of Federal Government budget process and the Federal accounting structure
  • Ability to communicate well in verbal and written forms.
  • Experience in working with and relating to international peoples and cultures.
  • Ability to interact and provide assistance to government staff and customers around the world with the utmost courtesy and professionalism.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
  • Ability to learn and become proficient in use of the CDC automated administrative systems.
  • Ability to work independently in the office or remote environment.
