We are now hiring a compassionate and dedicated Patient Advocate in Parsippany, New Jersey.

This is temporary role that is a 6 months contact with possible temp to hire!
Principal Duties and Responsibilities - Works in conjunction with the Field Sales Force and the Patient Service Representative to contact patients, prior to receiving the System to discuss a patient's balance or to make self- pay arrangements.
- Answers all voice mail and emails received in the Patient Advocacy voice or mail boxes.
- Takes calls from patients to review and discuss benefits, payment arrangements or discusses financial payment plans for patients' who are unable to pay the entire amount owed.
- Takes credit card information from patients and payers, and processes them for payment. Once the payment is processed the Patient Advocate will send a receipt to the patient or the payer to confirm receipt of the payment
- Reconciles the credit card reports with the payments received and passes the information along to the cash poster to reconcile the bank deposit.
- Tracks calls in and out of the department monthly
- Reviews accounts for mail received and responds accordingly.
- Registers complaints on the Non-Product Complaint Form as received
- Reviews and submits accounts to the collection agency based on the time frames outlined.
- Demonstrate the ability to document data enter all related job requirements in the current operating system.
- Reviews the file and updates the system with accurate or new information appropriately
- Other job functions as determined necessary and as assigned by management.
Expected Areas of Competence: - Knowledge or understanding of commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and other governmental and private insurance products.
- Medical terminology and health insurance background required
- Understanding on health insurance concepts and benefit design required
- Excellent customer service skills, analytical problem-solving skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, professional telephone manner and well organized
- Able to work with balancing team and individual responsibilities
- Experience using Microsoft Office tools such as Work and Excel
- Ability to learn and use proprietary programs such as FileNet, A/S 400, IFM
Education/ Experience Requirements - Minimum of 3-5 years' customer service experience and/or medical background
- Spanish Speaking a Plus
Pay: $22 per hour
Monday - Friday
8:30am -5pm and one day 10:00-6 each week
2 days in the office each week currently but it could change to 5 at any time.
Pay Details: $22.00 per hour
