This is a remote position.

Prime Response Inc (PRI) is seeking a Part-time Staff Accountant to support PRI’s accounting operations by performing a variety of tasks related to payroll tracking, expense processing, accounts payable, invoicing, reconciliations, and other accounting functions. This role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in Excel, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. For the right candidate, this position may expand to full-time, with additional responsibilities supporting proposals and assisting where the Contracts Department overlaps with Accounting.

Work Schedule & Potential for Growth

  • Part-Time: 20–30 hours per week
  • Full-Time Potential: For an experienced and motivated candidate, this position could expand to 40 hours per week with additional accounting responsibilities and opportunities to assist with proposals and cross-departmental work.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the PTO tracking spreadsheet; generate and distribute monthly reports to management.
  • Review and verify PTO and sick leave accruals in Unanet, ensuring compliance with applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs).
  • Process employee expense reports and check requests in Unanet.
  • Support processing of travel reports, with the goal of transitioning to full processing in Unanet.
  • Reconcile and process the monthly Capital One credit card statement, including gathering and organizing all related receipts.
  • Accurately and promptly enter accounts payable (A/P) transactions.
  • Assist with customer invoicing as needed.
  • Maintain benefits allocation spreadsheets.
  • Assist with generating and archiving reports from Deltek GCS.
  • Conduct an annual fixed asset inventory review and reconciliation.
  • Perform other accounting-related tasks as assigned.
Requirements

Required:

  • At least 3 yrs government contracting experience.
  • Strong Excel skills is a must.
  • Prior experience with Unanet or similar accounting/project management software.
  • Government contracting experience.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience with SCA contracts or CBAs.
  • Experience supporting proposal preparation or contract-related accounting tasks.
