Job Title: Microbiology Technician
Location: San Diego, CA 92121
100% onsite
Duration: 12 months contract (Possibility to extend or convert to fulltime)
Pay Rate: $29.92/hr on w2 (without benefits)
Work Schedule: This is a full-time, onsite position (5 days per week) with occasional weekend work as needed to support laboratory operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Degree in a scientific discipline
Years of experience: 2-4 years (Ideally 3)
More focused on industry experience than education (Minimum is Bachelors)
Medical device industry experience Preferred; Pharmaceutical can also work.
Job Description:
Reporting to the Microbiology Lab Supervisor within the Quality Assurance department, this position supports the daily operations of the microbiology laboratory.
The role involves performing microbiological testing in accordance with established work instructions, procedures, protocols, and standards.
Precision, attention to detail, and accurate record-keeping are essential.
The individual may also collaborate with cross-functional teams to support and complete various projects and assignments.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform microbiological testing such as SDA, Bioburden, LAL, and other contamination assessments as required.
Prepare product test samples for analysis.
Conduct environmental monitoring activities.
Prepare and quality-check media required for testing.
Calibrate, clean, and decontaminate laboratory equipment and glassware.
Collect, trend, and report data as needed.
Assist with the implementation and validation of new laboratory equipment.
Support the alignment of local quality documents and procedures with corporate policies.
Provide support during internal and external audits.
Build and maintain internal networks and develop external resources to facilitate task completion with suppliers.
Proactively identify and assist in resolving out-of-specification (OOS) laboratory results.
Plan, organize, and prioritize daily tasks to meet established schedules.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Skills
Proficiency in aseptic techniques and high attention to detail.
Strong communication, organizational, planning, and time management skills.
Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or ISO 9001-regulated environments is preferred.
Interview process: 3 rounds of interviews
