We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Logistics Supervisor to join our team in the food manufacturing industry. This role is integral to the smooth running of our warehouse operations and will require a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all logistics activities, ensuring efficient and timely production, and distribution of our food products. This position requires a deep understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safe Quality Food (SQF), SAP software, and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP). The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the food manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all logistics operations, including inventory management, warehousing, transportation, and supply chain processes.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, SQF, and HACCP regulations in all logistics operations.
- Utilize SAP software to optimize logistics processes and improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, or shipping.
- Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes, or carriers.
- Direct distribution center operation to ensure achievement of cost, productivity, accuracy, or timeliness objectives.
- Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues.
- Supervise the work of logistics specialists, planners, or schedulers.
- Prepare or file environmental certification applications.
- Negotiate with suppliers or customers to improve supply chain efficiency or sustainability.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Logistics Supervisor or similar role within the food manufacturing industry.
- Proven experience of working with GMP, SQF, SAP, and HACCP.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of logistics and inventory management software.
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Reliable and self-motivated with a proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions quickly.
- Ability to manage and lead a team to success.
