Avera is currently seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) – Ex Role looking to deliver the best possible nursing care in Avera’s patient-focused settings.

Job Summary

• The L.P.N. is responsible for assisting the registered nurse in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care.
• The L.P.N. is accountable for all patients assigned to him/her according to established policies and procedures of Avera St. Luke's and the scope of practice for the licensed practical nurse.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient/customer's status.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department.

Education and/or Experience

• Graduation from an accredited school of Practical Nursing
• Previous nursing experience is desirable, but not required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Current license to practice in the state of South Dakota with expanded role for Dialysis LPN.
• Completion of an approved Hemodialysis treatment course

Work Schedule

• Varied Day Shifts: 4 ten-hour shifts per week; 72 hours every 2 weeks
  • every other weekend (Fri/Sat)
  • every other holiday

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.  

• $22.75 - $31.50 per hour
