JOB SUMMARY:

The US Tax Operations team is responsible for managing all reporting obligations for the Firm’s Wealth Management and Institutional clients, ensuring compliance with IRS regulations. The Gain & Loss department within this team maintains cost basis records and provides Gain/Loss reporting for assets in Wealth Management customer accounts. This role involves working with cross-organizational operations teams, addressing tax-related queries, reconciling discrepancies across systems, ensuring regulatory reporting accuracy (e.g., cost basis and withholding), and supporting requirements/testing for strategic platform initiatives. A major focus of the department is automation, including collaboration with technology teams to drive efficiency and reduce risk through automation tools and AI solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage cost basis records and Gain/Loss reporting for Wealth Management customer accounts.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to resolve tax-related queries and discrepancies across multiple systems.
  • Ensure accuracy of regulatory reporting related to cost basis, withholding, and other IRS compliance requirements.
  • Support requirements gathering, testing, and implementation of strategic platform initiatives.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to drive automation initiatives and efficiency improvements.
  • Handle multiple concurrent projects and deliver within strict operational and annual deadlines.
  • Exercise sound judgment and provide timely problem resolution.
  • Contribute to departmental risk reduction efforts and overall process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent financial industry experience).
  • Understanding of general accounting principles as applied to the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of process controls and proficiency in database and spreadsheet applications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Access.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of data modeling techniques.
  • Familiarity with automation tools and AI-driven solutions in operations.

Certifications:

Not mandatory, but CPA or equivalent accounting/finance certifications would be a plus.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
