PURPOSE: Electrically troubleshoot, repair and maintain complex production equipment and systems. Primarily 1st shift schedule, could include 2nd, 3rd, split shifts, weekends, holidays, 12 hour shifts, on-call. Daily work activity is directed by the Group Leader and a Machine Repair electrician A. Reports directly to the department Manager.

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):
\n\n
\n\t - Performs all tasks under general supervision.
\n\t - Provides training and assistance to less experienced Electricians.
\n\t - Assumes high level ownership during off-shift work periods related to work prioritization, production needs, and safety requirements.
\n\t - Troubleshoot, inspect, adjust, and repair automated machines, process systems, and robotic systems to ensure they are working properly and safely.
\n\t - Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical). Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability and yield.
\n\t - Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventative and unscheduled maintenance).
\n\t - Assists engineers in operating test equipment to obtain performance data on parts and assemblies under varying operating conditions.
\n\t - Collects, compiles and summarizes test data, and reviews results with engineering to resolve problems such as product or equipment issues, malfunctions and incomplete test data.
\n\t - Diagnoses test equipment malfunctions, and services and repairs equipment as required.
\n\t - Diagnose malfunctions and analyze results using testing devices, then repair and replace broken machine components
\n\t - Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and maintain combustion systems. Responsible for continuing education to keep up with changing technology.
\n\t - Configure, commission, and test new equipment while making sure all maintenance and installations are well-documented, working properly, and operating safely.
\n\t - Document repairs for regulatory purposes.
\n\t - Perform bench work in repairing and maintaining production equipment and spare part assemblies. Oversee maintenance contract and service work as assigned.
\n\t - Order and maintain spare parts.
\n\t - Assist with keeping neat and orderly records on work performed.
\n\t - Work with Engineering, Production Team Leads, Manager, Group Leaders, and coworkers to accomplish the desired result.
\n\t - Adjust schedule and work hours to accomplish the desired result, ability to be on-call and must be able to work weekends, off shifts, and holidays as required.
\n\t - Perform work assignments efficiently while being consistent with good safety practices. Assist in procedure/equipment upgrades as necessary.
\n\t - Report any maintenance and/or safety issues to supervisor.
\n\t - Review, understand, and follow all Company specifications and procedures, and regulatory rules and requirements that are associated with the performance of this job.
\n\t - Other duties as assigned by the department Manager.
\n\t - May be asked to rotate between Mentor and Euclid facilities based on job training requirements.
\n\t - Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
\n\n
\n\t - Must have successfully completed an Electrician Apprentice Program, an Associate degree/certificate in Electronics/Electrical Technology, or have equivalent job experience.
\n\t - Must pass the skilled trade assessment test for this position.
\n\t - Must have a basic knowledge of electrical troubleshooting. Some knowledge of combustion and/or hydraulic systems may be required.
\n\t - Must have a basic knowledge and experience in relay logic, industrial controls, electronics, and PLCs.
\n\t - Must have a basic level of knowledge and experience reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and engineering drawings.
\n\t - Must have a basic ability to use a computer to communicate with machine control systems and PLCs. Must have a basic ability to diagnose the root cause of a problem, make repairs, and test for proper operation.
\n\t - Ability to use various measuring devices (multi-meter, oscilloscope, megohmmeter, etc.) Excellent attendance required.
\n\t - Must possess good organizational and communication skills.
\n\t - Team oriented, self-motivated, safety and quality conscious; requiring minimal supervision. Capable of lifting up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis.
\n\t - May be required to operate basic shop equipment (hoist, forklift, scissor lift, etc.) Be mechanically inclined.
\n\t - Must be able to work in confined areas, climb ladders, and work at heights of 30 feet.
\n\t - Must be able to wear a respirator.
\n\t - Must be able to distinguish colors used in color-coding wires and electronic components. Must be willing to continuously improve technical skills and knowledge.
\n\t - Must be able to understand and interpret the specifications and procedures related to this job.
