Ring & DuChateau is a collaborative team of 90+ engineers, designers, technicians and support staff dedicated to engineering design and service excellence. We have an immediate opening for a HVAC Systems Design Engineer within our HVAC Group located in Madison, WI. We are looking for team members who will provide exceptional service to our clients.

The successful candidate will:

  1. Perform HVAC engineering design calculations, technical comparisons and similar technical work as directed. Prepares studies and reports to evaluate systems and options.
  2. Evaluate, selects, and applies standard engineering concepts and procedures.
  3. Review drawings supplied by vendors and clients and provides the appropriate engineering solution to incorporate the design.
  4. Prepare complete construction documents that match the client and project teams requirements.
  5. Coordinate design with other disciplines.
  6. Review shop drawings under the supervision of the Project Engineer or Project Manager.
  7. Recommend changes or modifications to projects as appropriate.
  8. Respond to RFIs and prepares CBs under supervision.
  9. Conduct job site surveys, field observations and develops project punch lists under supervision.
  10. Coordinate project assignments with other engineers and technicians in the same department.
  11. Delegate work tasks to Designers, and BIM Technicians.
  12. Draw and design simultaneously on complex projects.
  13. Research code issues and documents findings and reports to supervising engineer.
  14. Interact with clients as level of experience progresses.
  15. Assist with technical studies and assessments.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.

You will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • 2+ years of experience with an engineering consulting firm or an A I E firm preferred
  • Professional license preferred
  • Experience in healthcare is a plus
  • Working knowledge using the latest version of Revit, Bluebeam, as well as Microsoft office Suite of products
  • Ability to organize and plan efficiently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
