Job Description

Position Overview:

The Heavy Civil Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing and managing the construction of heavy civil projects, including road construction, underground utilities, and other commercial construction projects. This role requires strong leadership skills, as you will be managing a team of construction workers and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy civil construction and a proven track record of successful project management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of heavy civil construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
  • Supervise and coordinate with construction workers and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to specifications
  • Communicate regularly with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and address any issues that may arise
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards
  • Review project plans and blueprints to identify potential issues and offer solutions
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders
  • Train and mentor construction workers and subcontractors, providing guidance and feedback as needed
  • Monitor project budgets and make adjustments as necessary to ensure projects stay within budget
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any construction-related issues that may arise

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or relevant field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a focus on road construction, underground utilities, and other commercial projects
  • Prior experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, tools, and equipment
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret project plans and blueprints
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and standards
  • Experience with budgeting and resource allocation
  • Strong problem-solving and
