Job Description

Our client is seeking a General Manager for their dispensary. The General Manager will play a crucial leadership role in overseeing daily operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This position requires a dynamic individual with strong managerial skills, a deep understanding of the cannabis industry, and the ability to foster a productive work environment. The General Manager will be responsible for driving sales, managing the team, and ensuring that all aspects of the business run smoothly and efficiently. This is an in-person role near the Amherst, MA area. Responsibilities: Manage the day-to-day operations of the dispensary, ensuring the store is well-staffed, organized, and complies with all state and local regulations. Recruit, train, and supervise dispensary staff, providing ongoing coaching, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution. Ensure team members are knowledgeable about cannabis products and provide excellent customer service. Oversee inventory tracking, ordering, and restocking, ensuring product availability and compliance with regulatory requirements. Foster a welcoming and professional environment for customers, ensuring they have a positive experience, receive accurate product information, and leave satisfied. Ensure the dispensary is operating in full compliance with all state and local cannabis regulations, including product handling, security protocols, and sales practices. Monitor and drive sales performance, develop strategies for revenue growth, and manage the store’s financial health by keeping track of costs and sales targets. Collaborate with marketing teams to implement promotional campaigns, customer loyalty programs, and other initiatives to increase customer traffic and sales. Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory, customer feedback, and employee performance. Generate regular reports for upper management on dispensary performance. Build positive relationships with the local community, attend relevant industry events, and represent the dispensary in local initiatives. Qualifications: Proven experience in retail management, preferably within the cannabis industry. Strong understanding of cannabis products, local and state regulations, and compliance requirements. Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or a related field is preferred. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a team, foster positive relationships, and resolve conflicts. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle the dynamic environment of a dispensary. Exceptional customer service skills and a passion for delivering a positive experience to customers. Proficiency with inventory management software, point of sale systems, and basic financial reporting. Ability to maintain discretion and professionalism, especially regarding sensitive customer and product information.
