[Position Overview]
We are seeking a highly capable Flight Control Engineer with 5+ years of experience, specializing in fixed-wing aircraft systems. This role focuses on the development, implementation, and validation of flight control algorithms for UAVs and autonomous aircraft. The ideal candidate combines strong theoretical foundations in control systems with practical experience in flight testing and system integration.
[Responsibilities]
* Design and implement flight control algorithms for fixed-wing UAVs, including attitude stabilization, guidance, and navigation.
* Develop control architectures tailored to aerodynamic and propulsion characteristics of fixed-wing platforms.
* Work closely with aerodynamicists, avionics, and software engineers to ensure seamless system integration.
* Tune and validate control parameters using simulation, HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop), and flight test data.
* Perform system modeling, linearization, and stability analysis using MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent tools.
* Contribute to flight test planning, execution, and post-flight data analysis.
* Support fault detection, safety logic, and redundancy strategies for robust autonomous operation.
* Document control system design, tuning processes, test results, and certification-relevant material.
[Qualifications]
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Control Systems, Robotics, or a related field.
* 5+ years of experience in flight control development for fixed-wing aircraft or UAVs.
* Strong background in control theory, flight dynamics, and state estimation.
* Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, and embedded system implementation of control algorithms.
* Hands-on experience with flight testing, sensor integration, and system tuning.
* Understanding of autopilot systems, navigation filters (e.g., EKF), and actuator dynamics.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong documentation habits.
[Preferred Qualifications]
* Experience with Pixhawk, PX4, ArduPilot, or custom flight control stacks.
* Familiarity with DO-178C or similar safety-critical software development standards.
* Knowledge of wind tunnel data interpretation and aerodynamic modeling.
* Experience with flight simulators and HIL test environments.
* Background in developing flight control systems for VTOL or hybrid aircraft (optional).
