Job Description
EQUIPMENT/SHOP MANAGER:
The equipment manager is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overall management of all golf course equipment including mowers, utility vehicles, tractors, handheld power equipment, and small tools. This role ensures that all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with established standards to support the maintenance of high-level playing conditions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Ensure all equipment is calibrated and all cuttings units are maintained daily for quality of cut.
· Maintain, service, and repair all turf equipment, vehicles, and small engines.
· Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule to minimize downtime
· Manage equipment parts inventory and place orders as needed
· Perform routine maintenance checks to ensure all equipment is operating correctly and safely
· Grind/ Sharpen reels as required by course Superintendent
· Complete repairs and routine maintenance in a timely manner
· Maintain a clean and safe work area
· Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and OHSA standards
· Communicate daily with course Superintendents regarding equipment and shop issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· 3+ years’ experience as a mechanic or equipment technician
· Knowledge of gasoline, diesel, hydraulic and electrical systems.
· Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and repair guides
· Welding and fabrication experience a plus
· Strong attention to details and organizational skills.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Prolonged standing and walking
· Prolonged exposure to outside
· Able to bend, crouch, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed
· Must be able to visually inspect machinery, materials, and course quality
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
· Ability to communicate with other team members
· Frequent exposure to elevated noise levels when operating and /or repairing equipment
· Able to operate computer to organize record keeping, parts inventory, work orders.
