About LEARN Charter School Network Founded in 2001, LEARN is a network of high‑performing, tuition‑free public elementary and middle schools with the mission of providing children with the academic foundation and ambition to earn a college degree. There are 12 LEARN Schools serving 4,100 students in grades PK‑8 across Chicago, Waukegan, North Chicago, and Washington, D.C. Job Details Seniority level: Mid‑Senior Employment type: Full‑time Job function: Education and Training What You’ll Do The Network English Language Arts Instructional Coach organizes, integrates, and leads LEARN Charter School Network ELA programs of instruction for all students across multiple campuses. The role reports to the Managing Director of Academics as a member of the Teaching and Learning Team. Essential Job Functions Lead, in conjunction with the Teaching and Learning Team, the development, implementation, refinement, and assessment of all Network ELA programs. Lead initiatives from the strategic plan to close the achievement gap and address Covid learning loss. Lead professional development for leaders and teachers on embedding best practices in ELA instruction, developing strong learning tasks, and increasing confidence in content and pedagogy. Assist in the analysis of student assessment data for continuous improvement. Assist leaders and teachers to develop appropriate scaffolding for tier‑one ELA instruction. Assist leaders and teachers to develop appropriate small‑group systems and interventions. Management Responsibilities Provide recommendations for additional ELA support via curricula or web‑based programs. Assist in grant applications and reporting. Build and manage effective relationships with internal and external partners. Maintain a presence in the region of campus sites within the network. What You’ll Need Bachelor’s degree and teacher certification (PEL preferred). Minimum 3–5 years of high‑level teaching or instructional coaching experience. Demonstrated leadership and support of adult learners to improve rigorous ELA instruction. Strong preference for candidates who have served as school leaders and hold a Reading/Language Arts endorsement.
