DUMP TRUCK DRIVER

Company 8, located in Sykesville, MD, is looking to hire a CDL Class B Dump Truck Driver. The driver will transport various types of freight throughout Maryland and the surrounding states.

The Driver's primary responsibility is the safe and efficient operation of a dump truck to load/unload and transport aggregate material such as sand, gravel, crushed rock, or bituminous paving materials to various job sites, quarries, and asphalt plants throughout the Baltimore/Washington Metropolitan area.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be a minimum of 21 years old
• Valid CDL - Class B Driver's license with a good driving record (License must be in the State of residence)
• Able to drive a manual transmission
• Must maintain a clean driving record

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
• Must be able to perform and have acknowledged all safety regulations as determined by FMCSA, OSHA, and Company policies

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip, making sure the truck is in safe conditions
• Maintains telephone contact with dispatch for instructions
• Maintains truck logs as required by the State, Federal, and Company policies and regulations
• Maintains the cleanliness of assigned truck

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

• Stand and sit for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to drive up to 12 hours a day
• Walk, bend, kneel, and twist
• Talk and hear
• Lift and move up to 75 pounds on occasions

EDUCATION:

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred

CERTIFICATIONS:

• Valid CDL - Class B Driver's (License must be the State of residence)
• Must be able to pass a Medical Examiner's Certificate

EXPERIENCE:

• 1+ years of Dump Truck experience preferred hauling various aggregate materials
