Job Description

Job Description

Founded in 2013, Synergy HomeCare exists to help seniors live full, independent, and dignified lives in their own homes. Serving Baldwin, Mobile, and Escambia Counties, the Daphne-based franchise has become one of the top-performing agencies in the Synergy network. Their team of 100+ caregivers provides compassionate, dependable, and high-quality in-home assistance — from companionship and daily living support to more complex care situations.

At the heart of Synergy’s mission is a deep commitment to servant leadership, Christian faith, teamwork, and community impact. The organization’s culture is family-oriented, team-centered, and grounded in trust — both internally and with the families they serve. Every quarter, the team participates in community service projects, and twice a year they host Caregiver Appreciation Days, reinforcing a culture that values care, gratitude, and growth.

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The Director of HomeCare Operations will serve as the operational leader for Synergy’s day-to-day business — ensuring that clients receive outstanding care and caregivers are supported, equipped, and empowered. This person will oversee a team of two Communications Coordinators/Schedulers and approximately 100+ caregivers.

Reporting directly to Owner, Andy Luedecke, the Director will act as the critical bridge between the office, caregivers, and client families — leading with structure, compassion, and continuous improvement. The ideal leader will bring both a heart for people and a mind for process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead daily operations: Oversee the internal scheduling and caregiver management functions, ensuring smooth coordination of client care and communication across the team.
  • Coach and develop staff: Manage, mentor, and meet regularly with the two schedulers; build team culture and accountability.
  • Drive quality and consistency: Continually evaluate and improve processes around communication, care delivery, caregiver orientation, and quality assurance.
  • Handle escalations and problem-solving: Serve as the decision-maker when caregiver or client issues arise; provide calm, clear guidance.
  • Oversee hiring and orientation: Ensure proper screening, onboarding, and training of new caregivers, supported by schedulers and the standardized orientation program.
  • Foster external relationships: Partner with community healthcare providers, hospitals, and referral sources to maintain Synergy’s trusted reputation.

EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in healthcare, home care, hospice, assisted living, or a related client-service setting
  • Proven track record in operations management , people leadership , and quality/process improvement .
  • RN licensure strongly preferred — ideally an RN ready to step away from long clinical shifts and lead through operational and relational influence.
  • Servant-hearted and trustworthy – models integrity and compassion; inspires trust from caregivers and clients alike.
  • Process-minded and detail-oriented – naturally looks for ways to streamline workflows and improve communication.
  • Decisive and composed – brings calm, confident leadership in high-stakes, emotionally charged situations.
  • Relational and approachable – builds authentic relationships with team members and clients; leads with warmth and humility.
  • Growth-oriented – thrives in a scaling environment and sees challenges as opportunities to refine systems and grow the mission.
