About the Role
The Company is seeking a Deputy Chief Medical Officer - Psychiatrist for a hybrid role with a focus on overseeing and ensuring the delivery of medical services to children, youth, and families in the child welfare system. The successful candidate will be responsible for the proper provision of covered services, developing clinical practice standards, and policies, and supporting an integrated approach to the physical and behavioral health needs of members. This role involves administration of medical services, program development, and may include providing clinical consultation and serving as a strategic advisor. The Deputy Chief Medical Officer will also be involved in quality management, and may be called upon to represent the company to external entities. Applicants must be licensed and domiciled in the state of North Carolina, with a Child & Adolescent Board Certification. A minimum of 10 years of clinical experience is required, with a preference for those with at least 2 years in managed care and 1 year working with the child welfare system. The role demands a professional with strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills, and the ability to lead and implement activities that impact healthcare quality, cost, and outcomes. The Deputy Chief Medical Officer will be expected to have a proactive approach to identifying and developing opportunities for innovation in the field.
