Job Description

A global parts manufacturing company is currently seeking a Customs Broker to support their office in Schaumburg, IL. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of work experience as a customs broker and a positive, team-oriented mindset. This is a full-time, direct hire position.

Customs Broker Responsibilities Include :

• Prepare and process import and export documents and other forms on behalf of clients according to customs regulations, laws and procedures.
• Arrange for payment of duties, taxes, storage and transportation of imported goods and bonds to cover duty goods.
• Provide advice and solutions to clients on export and import restrictions, such as tariff systems, letters of credit, insurance requirements and other custom related matters.
• Quote duty and tax rates on commodities for clients.
• Clear goods through customs and to their destinations for clients.
• Other duties as assigned

Customs Broker Requirements Include:

• Associate’s degree in an International Trade -related field preferred
• At least 3 years' work experience in Logistics as Custom Broker
• Good computer skills with specific proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication ability in a multicultural environment
• Ability to prioritize tasks and good organizational skills

While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
