To produce images of the human body for medical diagnostic purposes. Performs diagnostic and Computed Tomography (CT) imaging examinations.

- Ensures patient comfort and understanding of ordered exam.

3. Quality & Safety-Exam performance.
- Time out performed prior to procedure start.
- Assisting surgeon/radiologist with surgery/special procedures.
- Ensures optimal visualization of anatomy by directing radiographic equipment.
- Assist staff in room with procedure set-up.
- Responds to pages in a timely manner.
4. Heightened Focus on Efficiency-RIS/Cerner/Navicare/ PACS/Outlook/Intranet/Powerscribe.
- Ensures Powerchart is available to the performing physician prior to start of case.
- Knowledge of order entry and ability to order correct exams and proper indications.
- Matches digital images to Radiology Information System (RIS) orders, for viewing in Picture Archival Communication System (PACS).
- Starts and completes exams performed.
- Consistently uses Exam Management.
- Document Medications and Allergies.
- Consistently uses Powerscribe.
5. Quality & Safety-QA.
- Assists in maintaining appropriate par levels of supplies and communicates to appropriate ordering personnel.
- Patient identification accurately verified.
- Properly identify anatomical orientation on all films. Clean and disinfect equipment at the conclusion of each case.
6. Partnerships & Collaboration-Department teamwork.
- Maintains positive and respectful relationship with team members.
- Understands and supports the direction and workflow of the department.
- Available at the start of scheduled shift and appropriately manages completion of shift.
- Relieves coworkers during cases as needed.
- Performs job duties as assigned.
- Maintains communication/coordination w/pertinent areas.
- Demonstrates ability to manage department workflow as needed.
- Maintains awareness of ongoing procedures and assists co-workers in unassigned areas when available.

Job Description: Job Requirements Education - Graduate of an approved American Medical Association School of Radiologic Technology required.
Experience - One year experience in CT or a graduate from an approved CT/MRI program preferred.
License/Certifications - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered in Radiography (R) required.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered in Computed Tomography (CT) required.
- Technologists who have completed clinical training and are Computed Tomography (CT) Board eligible will be considered with the understanding that the registry will be passed within 12 months of hire.
- New technologists who require clinical training to become Computed Tomography (CT) board eligible will be considered with the understanding that the advanced board certification is required within 12 months at the completion of clinical training.
- Current Medical Radiographer license for work state required.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities - Strong interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate and interact with patients and family members as well as hospital personnel and coworkers.
- Must have analytical skills necessary to compute exposure factors and the ability to perform numerous tasks at once.
- Adept at working with pediatric patients.
- Strong knowledge in cross sectional anatomy for CT exams and abnormalities of exams is essential.
