Description Counselor Internship (Full-time, unpaid) Progress your education with the largest and fastest growing Community Re-Entry and Residential Therapeutic Community services provider in the nation.
Bridges International is the oldest and most successful private non-profit provider of re-entry services in the state of Florida and has expanded its services to inmates and probationers globally. Under the supervision of the Assistant Clinical Facility Director, our Bachelor's/Master's Level Counselor Intern will assist counselors and other staff in the daily functions of the clinic at our Orlando facility. The purpose of this internship is for the student to gain practical experience in their field of study. The Counselor Intern will observe, learn and assist with performing basic clinical functions while having the opportunity to gain knowledge about the role of a Counselor within a non-profit and social community environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Ensure that all applicable policies and procedure that fall within the scope of the job description are followed and adhered to.
2. Record and file all UA results in clinical files.
3. Assist with program intake and admission documentation.
4. Set up clinical files for inmates upon admission.
5. File clinical documents in clinical charts.
6. Responsible for executing all The Company program standards and policy.
7. Report all breaches of company policy or code of ethics that you have knowledge of, hear about or see regardless of who is involved in the breach.
8. Report all unsafe conditions that could affect clients/inmates or employees which you become aware of.
9. Complete and maintain all required clinical documentation per The Company policy, Counselor Handbook and the F.A.C. 65-D-30.
10. Complete case management on each client as necessary.
11. Be available for emergency counseling sessions with any client while on shift.
12. Must be able to speak, read write and understand English.
13. Ensure that all applicable policies and procedures that fall within the scope of job description are followed and adhered to.
14. Perform other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
Qualifications - Bachelor's/Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in any related Social Sciences discipline:
