Schedules surgery procedures using appropriate EHR(s)

Ensures procedures are scheduled correctly and in the proper sequence

Schedules, cancels, reschedules, and coordinates various patient appointments in various hospital departments.

Maintains schedule accurately in EHR(s)

Answers the phones in a professional and courteous manner

Verifies patient is given preparation instructions for procedure and provided registration information to bring on the day of the procedure

Notifies patient of any monies required to meet deductibles or co-insurance must be brought the day of the procedure

Ensures uninsured patients are advised that payment is required the day of the procedure

Completes data entry in a timely and accurate manner

Completes bi-monthly statistical reports of each service line

Completes daily surgical schedule and distributes as appropriate

Verify insurance and prior authorizations

Ensures all documentation is completed for surgeries

Completes departmental filing

Attends all mandatory meetings

Sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing mail

Assures appropriate coordination with other hospital departments when special surgical needs occur

Inquiries are handled promptly, courteously and efficiently

Maintains professional friendly demeanor to patients, medical providers and co-workers

Demonstrates flexibility in providing coverage for vacation, sick and schedule changes.

Arrive promptly at start of shift and readily calls in and begins work.

Uses only allotted time for breaks and meals.

Refrains from gossip and negativity.

Abides by dressing and grooming standards.

Focuses on duties and keeps visiting to a minimum.

Willingly performs tasks as assigned

Exhibits a positive customer service attitude

Demonstrates ability to work with co-workers and patient regardless of age, race, ethnic or sociological background

Brings forward operational concerns to Clinic Manager II

Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to communicate and provide information appropriate to the age and specific needs of patients

Demonstrates sensitivity to patient’s level of understanding and adjusts vocabulary used, speed of speech and volume to assure patient comprehension

Demonstrates sensitivity to bi-lingual patients and obtains translator to convey information

Allows patient time to assimilate information and ask questions

Demonstrates ability to adjust information regarding appointments and office procedures based on age and/or need of patient

Assess patient level of understanding and ask for feedback

Adheres to Health and Safety Policies.
