Job Description

Green Tree School & Services  is seeking a qualified Computer Science   Teacher  to manage all functions within their assigned classrooms, including service delivery, reporting, and management of classroom assistants and aides. Additionally, as members of the Senior Staff, Teachers will be held to a high standard of service delivery and conduct. They will set the standard for Staff members in all professional areas and are expected to provide proper leadership within their classrooms.

Instruction and Assessment:

  • Instruct students on how computers work, including basic science and mathematics behind their operation and the hardware and the software built of those foundations.
  • Support the goals, vision, and mission of the district.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Promote a positive learning environment that includes behavior management techniques appropriate to the needs of all students
  • Develop lessons that include differentiation techniques
  • Teach internet safety and Digital Citizenship in accordance with current PDE Standards for Students, including personal responsibility for technology use
  • Facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity
  • Assist students in connecting to technological principles in the real world
  • Keep abreast of developments in the technology field by reading literature/journals, talking with colleagues, and professional development
  • Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, projects, etc.
  • Maintain and monitor student usage of computer lab equipment
  • Be aware of and monitor internet usage for students as outlined by GTSS policy
  • Work collaboratively with the Special Education Assistant Director to continually develop effective lesson plans using technology
  • Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the computer lab materials
  • Perform duties assigned by the administration in accordance with GTSS policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the other staff members in the building to assist them with educational technology needs
  • Model educational technology strategies for teachers that demonstrate best practices and research-based instruction with students.
  • Develop innovative lessons to challenge 21st-century learners
