About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and Vice President to play a pivotal role in the strategic oversight of human capital. The successful candidate will be responsible for executive-level leadership in all HR areas, with a focus on integrating high-quality services, facilitating change, and ensuring an engaged and resilient workforce. This role is particularly significant as it involves partnering with the executive team to shape a holistic culture, cultivate a sense of community and belonging, and maintain a commitment to a shared mission. The CHRO will also be tasked with continuing to build a productive relationship with the staff union and ensuring that the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement are effectively managed. Expertise in strategic, collaborative, and consultative HR services, as well as a commitment to advancing diverse and inclusive workplaces, is essential. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, with a preference for those who have worked in complex, decentralized, and unionized environments. A bachelor's degree is required, and an advanced degree, along with experience in research, higher education, or non-profit organizations, is preferred. Core competencies for success in this role include emotional intelligence, sound judgment, strong problem-solving skills, diplomacy, political savvy, and cultural awareness.
