Penick Village Continuing Care Life Plan Community is seeking an experienced and professional Chaplain & Priest in Charge .

Purpose of Job Position:
The Chaplain serves as a guardian of the mission and core values as a significant leader of Penick Village.
The Chaplain serves as the spiritual leader of Penick Village. This position plans and implements an ongoing program of pastoral visitation and support for residents and staff. The Chaplain develops programming to address the spiritual issues and needs of residents, and to engage residents in the life-long process of spiritual formation and growth. Development of a traditional program of weekly worship and study is the responsibility of this position. Additionally, the Chaplain works closely with others to generate a life-enriching and holistic program of wellness services, including the provision of services that engage the mind, body, and spirit of all participants. The Chaplain provides emotional support to residents, family members, and staff during times of transition and crisis, and supports residents in their end-of-life decisions and the making of their final arrangements.
Job Relationships:
Reports to and supervised by the Chief Operating Officer.
Supervises Chaplaincy Interns, Deacons, and volunteers
Works closely with the Chief Operating Officer, Human Resources, Healthcare Administrator, Director of Nursing, Social Worker (Healthcare and IL) and other Department Leaders
Works closely with all residents.
Works closely with staff.
Works closely with families.
Works closely with residents' pastors.
Educational Requirements and Qualifications:
An Ordained Episcopal Priest.
A Master of Divinity Degree from an accredited Episcopal seminary.
A minimum of three years' experience in parish ministry and programming.
Certified or eligible for certification by the Association of Professional Chaplains.
Knowledge of counseling techniques and demonstrated ability to provide excellence in pastoral counseling.
Excellent writing, speaking, and communication skills. The ability to communicate fluently in English
Knowledge of older adults. Experience in a long-term care setting, whether professional or volunteer, preferred.
Excellent human relations skills and the ability to relate well to people from varied backgrounds, and with people exhibiting various levels of physical and cognitive ability and disability.
