Overview As a tutor on the platform, you can: Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like. Be matched with students whose needs align with your teaching style and expertise. Use our AI-powered Tutor Copilot to enhance sessions with real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features. Handle invoicing while Varsity Tutors processes payments. Compensation and Scheduling Base contract rates start at $18/hour and increase for specialized subjects, with potential to earn up to $40/hour as you continue to work with the same student. Get paid up to twice per week for tutoring sessions conducted and invoiced. Remote tutoring—no commuting required. Responsibilities Deliver 1-on-1 online tutoring sessions focused on Certified Reading Intervention. Personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles to maximize student outcomes. Communicate clearly and maintain a friendly, engaging teaching approach. What We Look For In a Tutor Strong communication skills with an engaging teaching style. Expertise in Certified Reading Intervention and the ability to explain concepts clearly. Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles. Prior tutoring or teaching experience and/or graduate-level education preferred.
