Job Description

Pride Health is hiring a Medical Coding Auditor to support our client’s medical facility in Dover, DE . This is a 13-week assignment (Possibility of extension or conversion) opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Job Title: Medical Coding Auditor

Shift: Days, Full-Time

Location: Dover, DE

Annual Salary Range: $53,000 - $81,000 with benefits

General Summary:

The Medical Coding Auditor is responsible for performing data quality reviews on provider records to ensure accurate ICD-10 and CPT coding, as well as proper clinical documentation. This role involves auditing medical records for accuracy, ensuring compliance with documentation requirements, and educating providers, coders, and billing staff on proper coding practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit medical records to validate accurate CPT and ICD-10 codes.
  • Compile and analyze audit reports, ensuring selected CPT codes align with clinical documentation.
  • Conduct biannual audits of established provider medical records.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to validate observations, improve documentation, and suggest improvements.
  • Provide coding and documentation training for new employees and revenue cycle teams.
  • Assist in evaluating coding activities and the performance of revenue cycle personnel.
  • Perform coding procedures as required.
  • Develop educational materials and collaborate with the Revenue Cycle Manager on training initiatives for providers.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Education: Associate Degree in a related field.
  • Credential: Certified Professional Coder (CPC).
  • Experience: 5+ years in inpatient/outpatient coding and auditing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • Experience: Experience in coding within a multi-specialty group practice setting.
